"We'd encourage people to meet at last in a public place and not put themselves in a one on one situation until they are entirely comfortable with the person they're meeting,
The spate of queries raised police fears that incidents were going unreported and there may be victims who needed help.
People who did not want to go to police could get traditional counseling and medical services from the Sexual Assault Resource Centre.
